Why is this so significant to the model train world?
Tracks have almost always historically been a basic 36” circle. Of course there’s nothing wrong with a basic circle, but adding a diversion and an exciting change in direction can renew interest in a train set.
How does it work?
The Bachmann EZ track set can easily turn a 36” circle into a figure 8. The overall design is an over-under design with one section of the track at ground level and the returning section above ground. The track is easy to set up and features a snap fit design.
The entire set consists of 14 pieces of steel alloy track pieces (8 curved pieces and 6 straight aways) and 14 pieces of the graduated pier set. All of these together combine to create the railroad track. Along with these items, the set includes additional accessories like:
- Motorized Gandy Dancer hand car
- Assembled lighted station
- An extensive track plan manual with ideas for layouts
In terms of scale, the track is an HO scale railroad track. This is important information as some collectors and model train aficionados have varying gauges.
